16 Guti is a traditional two-player board game where each player uses 16 pieces and tries to capture all opponent pieces through planned moves. The game does not have a story, characters, or missions. Instead, it is based on direct strategy between two players. It is also known as Sholo Guti, Bead 16, or Sixteen Soldiers in different regions. The main objective is to control the board, protect your pieces, and remove the opponent’s pieces by jumping over them.

The Board and Starting Setup

16 Guti is played on a board made of connected lines and points. Each player starts with 16 pieces placed on their side of the board. The pieces move along the lines from one point to another. There are no levels in the usual video game sense. A full match is one strategic round, and the result depends on how well each player moves, blocks, and captures during that round.

Captures, Turns, and Movement

Players take turns moving one piece at a time. A piece can move to a nearby empty point if there is a line connecting both positions. To capture, a player jumps over an adjacent opponent piece and lands on an empty point directly beyond it. The captured piece is then removed from the board. In many versions, more than one capture can be made in a single turn if the next jump is available.

Main gameplay elements include:

  •         two players with 16 pieces each;
  •         a board with connected movement points;
  •         movement along marked lines;
  •         captures made by jumping over opponent pieces;
  •         tactical blocking and positioning;
  •         victory by removing all enemy pieces.

Thinking Ahead During a Match

The gameplay is slower and more tactical than action-based games. A player should not move pieces randomly, because one open position can allow the opponent to make a capture. It is useful to keep pieces connected, control central points, and watch for possible jump paths. Sometimes a defensive move is better than an immediate capture if it protects more pieces later.

To play 16 Guti, choose a side, place the pieces in the starting positions, and take turns moving or capturing. The player should look at both the current move and the possible response from the opponent. Winning requires planning several moves ahead, avoiding isolated pieces, and creating chances to capture. 16 Guti is mainly about board control, patience, and tactical decision-making.
