Astro Bot
Astro Bot is a 3D platformer where players take control of a small but agile robot named Astro as he explores diverse planets across multiple galaxies. Each level presents unique environments, filled with interactive elements, hidden collectibles, and dynamic challenges that test both platforming skills and problem-solving abilities. Movement between galaxies is handled by the Dual Speeder, a spaceship shaped like the DualSense controller, reinforcing the game’s connection to PlayStation’s signature design.
Unlocking Abilities and Overcoming Challenges
Throughout the game, Astro gains access to new abilities that enhance movement and combat. Special upgrades, such as the Barkster companion, allow Astro to phase through obstacles and enemies, while frog-themed gloves enable ranged attacks and wall-jumping mechanics. Every galaxy features boss battles that require players to utilize their abilities strategically, making each encounter a fresh test of skill. The variety of tools available encourages creative gameplay and keeps exploration engaging.
Recruiting PlayStation-Inspired Bots
One of the standout features of Astro Bot is the presence of over 150 recruitable VIP robots, many of whom are inspired by characters from iconic PlayStation franchises. These bots, first introduced in Astro’s Playroom, serve as both allies and collectibles, adding an extra layer of discovery. As players progress, they uncover references to PlayStation’s history, making the experience a celebration of both platforming and gaming nostalgia.
