Crime Simulator is a free-roam game that places the player in a digital city where criminal behavior drives progression. Instead, the focus is on improvising actions within the game world and responding to how the environment reacts. The city is built as a continuous space with various locations like intersections, open lots, and narrow streets. Players can use the environment to block enemies, escape through alternate routes, or hide temporarily. There are no building interiors or mini-games. The game uses a basic cycle of movement, confrontation, and reset. Vehicles and enemies appear randomly, and no mission markers guide the player. Time is not tracked formally, but longer sessions tend to result in more difficult situations. The goal is to remain active for as long as possible without being stopped.
