Happy’s Humble Burger Cult begins in a preparation hub where employees select a contract before entering another restaurant simulation. Each assignment combines a fast-food shift with an extraction challenge. The team must earn enough money by serving customers, then leave the building after Asset Joy begins searching for them. The game supports solo play and cooperative sessions for up to four people, while its story continues the experiments and reality manipulation connected to the Paragon Corporation.
Orders appear at the counter and may include burgers, fried products, drinks, desserts, and other menu items. Ingredients must be cooked with the correct appliances, placed in the required order, and delivered before customers lose patience. The six restaurants use different menus and kitchen arrangements, so players cannot follow exactly the same routine in every contract.
In multiplayer, workers can assign separate roles to reduce delays. One person may control the grill, another can prepare sides, while the remaining players manage drinks, packaging, and the register. Solo players must plan an efficient route between every workstation.
Contracts use random modifiers that affect how the restaurant operates. Appliances may stop working, communication can become less reliable, or customers may arrive under different conditions. During a shift, players need to:
Failing an order wastes time, while an inefficient kitchen can prevent the team from reaching the required total.
Once Asset Joy appears, the contract changes from work simulation to survival horror. The team must abandon the cooking stations and reach an available exit. Players who learned the restaurant layout during the shift can move faster, while those who separate may have difficulty finding one another. Voice communication helps with coordination, but the creature can react to sounds picked up through the microphone.
Escaping preserves the earnings from the contract. Back in the hub, money can be used for boosters, harder assignments, and other preparations. Players may also use the ascension system to sacrifice progress and advance the larger narrative. Happy’s Humble Burger Cult is built around repeated runs in which cooking speed, teamwork, map knowledge, and a controlled escape are equally important.
