inZOI is a life simulation game where players control virtual characters called Zois inside large open-world cities. The game focuses on daily life, relationships, careers, building systems, and character management through realistic graphics and detailed social simulation mechanics. Players create their own Zois, customize homes, and shape stories through choices and interactions. Instead of following one fixed storyline, the game allows players to create personal narratives through everyday activities and long-term life progression.
The gameplay begins with character creation where players design Zois using detailed customization tools. Hairstyles, facial features, clothing, accessories, and personality traits can all be adjusted before entering the game world. After creating a character, players move into cities filled with apartments, stores, workplaces, schools, and public areas that can be explored freely. Zois can interact with other characters, form friendships, build romantic relationships, and develop careers across different professions.
The game does not contain traditional levels or combat-focused missions. Instead, progression happens through life stages, careers, skills, and relationships. Different cities function like separate environments with unique buildings, neighborhoods, and social systems. Players can focus on careers, family life, home decoration, or social interaction depending on their preferred playstyle. As progression continues, Zois gain new skills, unlock better jobs, purchase larger homes, and experience life events such as marriage, aging, and career changes.
One of the main mechanics in inZOI is city-wide simulation. NPC characters move independently, follow schedules, and react dynamically to events happening around them. The game also includes detailed building systems where players customize homes, furniture layouts, weather conditions, and even parts of the city itself.
Main gameplay activities include:
The game is played from a third-person perspective with both direct movement and point-and-click controls. Zois have needs such as hunger, sleep, hygiene, fun, and social interaction that must be managed during daily routines. Different activities influence mood, reputation, and long-term development inside the simulation world.
Players can also participate in jobs, hobbies, and social events while interacting with AI-driven characters that respond differently depending on personality and relationship status. Some systems focus on realism, including weather effects, public transportation, schedules, and community events.
