Minecraft Verity
Verity is a horror visual novel centered on conversations with a small yellow companion. At first, Verity behaves like a helpful character and speaks to the player normally, but its personality changes as the story continues. The game gradually moves from peaceful outdoor scenes to darker locations and more unsettling dialogue. There is no combat or free exploration; progress comes from reading conversations, choosing responses, and moving through the story chapters.
When Verity Starts to Change
The story begins with the player’s first meeting with Verity. Early conversations establish it as a friendly companion, but later it begins asking unusual questions and behaving as though it knows information it should not have. The environments also change alongside the story, moving from fields and a house in a meadow toward portals, maze-like spaces, and Backrooms-style locations. Player choices can influence how individual conversations develop.
Choices Drive the Gameplay
Most interaction is handled through dialogue choices. The player reads what Verity says and selects one of the available responses with the mouse. There are no weapons, inventories, platforming sections, or complicated controls. The main gameplay elements include:

Chapters and Story Progression
The game is planned around two acts, although the available version currently contains the first act. Its chapter structure includes First Meeting, The House in the Meadow, Knows Too Much, Verity’s Questions, Exit the Game, The Portal, and The Maze, followed by secret Chapters 8 through 12. Points earned while playing can be used to unlock levels, allowing access to additional parts of the story.
To play Verity, use the mouse and left click to advance dialogue and select answers when choices appear. There is no need to learn movement controls because the game follows a visual-novel format. Progress depends on continuing conversations, making decisions, and reaching later chapters as Verity’s behavior changes. The first act moves progressively away from the initial peaceful setting and toward the horror-focused parts of the story.
