Paralives is a life simulation game where the player creates characters called Parafolks, builds homes for them, and manages their daily lives. The game is available in Early Access on Steam for PC and Mac, and it is still in active development. It does not have a fixed story campaign with one main plot. Instead, the player creates their own stories through relationships, careers, homes, families, and daily choices.

Building Homes With Flexible Tools

Build Mode is one of the main parts of Paralives. The player can design houses, adjust rooms, place furniture, and create living spaces for Parafolks. The game is focused on customization, so building is not limited to completing preset levels. The player decides how the house should look and how it should support the characters living inside it.

Parafolks, Needs, and Daily Routines

Paralives does not use levels in the usual action game sense. Progression comes from managing life over time. In Live Mode, the player manages the lives, relationships, careers, and families of Parafolks. Current Early Access features include an open world town, day and night cycle, work, career progression, personality traits, emotions, wants, skills, needs, social interactions, relationship development, cooking, house fires, bills, and having children.

The game includes these main activities:

  •         Creating and editing Parafolks
  •         Building and decorating homes
  •         Managing needs, emotions, and wants
  •         Developing careers and skills
  •         Building friendships and relationships
  •         Exploring daily life in an open town

Character Creation and Personal Stories

The character editor, known as Paramaker, lets the player customize the appearance, clothing, and personality of Parafolks. This system supports the main idea of the game: creating people and then watching or guiding their lives. The player can decide who lives together, what kind of home they have, and how their routines develop.

Early Access Structure

Because Paralives is in Early Access, the game is still growing through updates. It already offers the core life simulation loop, but more features are planned during development. The goal is not to finish a final level or defeat an enemy. The player’s long term progress comes from building homes, shaping households, improving careers and relationships, and creating different life scenarios for Parafolks.
