Project Eden’s Garden is a single-player visual novel and mystery fangame inspired by the killing-game structure of Danganronpa. The player follows a group of talented participants trapped inside Eden’s Garden Academy. The main focus is reading dialogue, learning character motives, investigating crimes, collecting evidence, and using that evidence during trial sections.
The story begins when 16 participants are brought into a controlled academy setting and forced into a survival game. Each character has a talent, personality, and role within the group. The situation creates distrust because the rules make murder part of the escape system. The player follows Damon Maitsu, the Ultimate Debater, as he studies the others and becomes involved in the first case.
Project Eden’s Garden does not use traditional levels with action stages or open combat areas. Progress is divided into chapters. A chapter usually begins with story scenes and character interaction, then moves into a murder event, an investigation phase, and a class trial. The released version includes Chapter 1, while the full project was not completed.
The game includes several main elements:
During investigation sections, the player examines rooms, checks objects, talks to characters, and gathers clues connected to the case. These clues are later used during the trial. The trial sections require the player to compare statements with evidence, identify contradictions, and follow the logic of the case until the truth is explained.
To play, the player uses keyboard and mouse controls, with controller support also available in the downloadable version. Most actions involve advancing text, choosing menu options, inspecting highlighted areas, and selecting evidence during debates. Success depends on reading carefully, remembering character statements, and connecting details from the investigation to the trial.
