Pusoy Dos is a Filipino shedding card game where players try to empty their hands by playing stronger cards or valid combinations. The game does not have a story, characters, or levels in the usual video game sense. It is a turn-based card game built around ranking, timing, and card management. The main objective is to be the first player to discard all cards, while the others try to finish with as few cards as possible.
How a Round Begins
Pusoy Dos is usually played with a standard 52-card deck and no jokers. It can be played by several players, with four-player games being common. At the start, cards are dealt to the players, and the first move is made by the player holding the lowest starting card, depending on the rule set. From there, players take turns placing cards in the center or passing if they cannot or do not want to play.
Cards That Can Be Played
The game uses card values and combinations. A player can play a single card, a pair, three of a kind, or a five-card poker-style hand. The next player must beat the current play with the same type of combination. For example, a pair must be beaten by a stronger pair, while a five-card hand must be beaten by a stronger five-card hand.
Common playable combinations include:

- straights;
- flushes;
- full houses;
- four of a kind with an extra card.
Reading the Table
The gameplay is not only about playing the strongest card immediately. A player has to decide when to use high cards and when to save them for later turns. Passing can also be useful if playing a strong card too early would leave weak cards at the end. Since the number 2 is usually the highest rank, it can be important for controlling the table.
To play Pusoy Dos, look at your hand, find possible combinations, and plan how to remove cards in a useful order. Try to avoid being left with cards that are hard to play. Watch what other players pass on, because it can show which combinations they may not have. Pusoy Dos is mainly about card order, memory, and choosing the right moment to take control of a round.
