Sonic Forces
Sonic Forces is an action platform game from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game has a story campaign where Dr. Eggman has taken control of most of the world with help from his army and a new enemy named Infinite. Sonic is captured early in the story, and his friends form a resistance group to fight back. The player takes part in missions that help the resistance recover territory and stop Eggman’s forces.
Story and Main Objective
The story is based on a conflict between Eggman’s army and the resistance. The player follows different characters during the campaign, including Modern Sonic, Classic Sonic, and a custom hero created by the player. The main objective is to complete stages, defeat enemies, rescue allies, and move closer to the final battle against Eggman and Infinite. The game uses cutscenes and dialogue between missions to connect the stages.
Stages and Playable Characters
Sonic Forces is divided into story stages instead of open-world levels. The main campaign includes about 30 stages, and each one has a specific route, enemies, obstacles, and mission goal. Modern Sonic stages focus on high-speed 3D movement and boosting. Classic Sonic stages use side-scrolling platform gameplay. Custom hero stages allow the player to use a created character with special weapons called Wispons.

The gameplay changes depending on the character. Modern Sonic can run quickly, boost through enemies, jump over gaps, and use homing attacks. Classic Sonic has more traditional side-scrolling movement with jumping and platform timing. The custom hero can attack with a Wispon, use a grappling hook in certain sections, and collect items during missions. The player needs to react to hazards while also following the stage route.
To play Sonic Forces, choose a mission from the world map and complete the stage objective. The player should collect rings, avoid damage, and use each character’s abilities at the right time. Rings help protect the character from being defeated after taking a hit, but falling or failing certain hazards can still restart a section. Sonic Forces is mainly about speed, platform timing, character abilities, and completing story missions in order.
