The Headliners positions players as photojournalists working inside a city under siege by unidentified forces. With only a press pass and a camera, each mission begins at the edge of containment. You’re dropped into unstable zones where structures are failing, visibility is limited, and movement often signals danger. The goal is to capture undeniable visual evidence—proof of destruction, conflict, or contact. Each location offers multiple access points and layers to explore, but every decision to advance must be weighed against the threat of not making it out.
The camera is the core mechanic. Players scan environments, wait for the right timing, and frame images that may define the public’s perception of events. Not all images hold equal value—shots taken under direct threat or during high-impact moments carry more weight. Some may attempt to capture confrontation, others the damage left behind. There are no markers guiding players to success; instinct, positioning, and speed determine the results. Coordination with teammates adds another level, allowing for coverage across multiple angles but also dividing attention and risk.
Each outing consumes a press pass, and new ones are earned only through publication. Images are evaluated after every run—only high-impact content secures continued access. If a player fails to deliver something usable, their ability to return to the field is cut off. There’s no in-game currency, no leveling system—only the work itself. In The Headliners, survival is tied to relevance, and every decision made inside the zone shapes what the world sees next.
