The player character in Cursor Camp is the same pointer normally used to navigate a page. Moving the mouse sends this cursor through a shared summer-camp environment populated by other players. Each visitor can be recognized by a small flag and any accessories they have collected. Communication does not depend on written messages; players respond to one another by moving, following, circling objects, and participating in the same activities.
There is no required route after entering the camp. Players can head toward the main lodge, follow paths to the beach, explore the treehouse, or search for sports and swimming areas. The world extends beyond a single screen, so reaching the edge moves the camera across the map. Indoor locations contain smaller interactive details, while outdoor zones provide more space for group activities and collectibles.
Cursor Camp uses an open map rather than conventional levels. Optional badges serve as objectives for players who want a completion target. Some are awarded for performing a particular action, visiting a location, or interacting with an animal or object. Seashells act as collectible currency, and hats change the cursor’s appearance. None of these systems prevents free exploration because the main areas are accessible without completing a fixed mission sequence.
Around the camp, players can:
Controls are based on mouse movement, clicking, and dragging. A cursor can push certain objects, carry small items, and activate environmental mechanisms. Slow movement is useful inside the lodge, sauna, caves, and treehouse because interactive elements may occupy only a small part of the scene. The badge book records completed tasks and provides a way to review overall progress.
The game does not follow a formal storyline, but several details imply that the camp has a history. Radio transmissions, a book, cave drawings, a star map, and restricted areas provide material for interpretation. There is no confirmed ending that explains every clue. Cursor Camp remains available after badges and collectibles are found, allowing players to revisit activities, meet different groups of cursors, or continue searching for interactions they missed during the first trip around the map.
